February 2016 - Arts Council Award received for 'Slough and the Universe' Residency at the L

I have received an Arts Council award to explore the interplay between science and art for the benefit of Slough school students and the wider community, influenced by local connections to astronomer William Herschel. The aim will be to create opportunities for the local Slough community to explore a greater sense inter-connectedness and cultural heritage by linking Herschel’s work with infra-red and modern fibre optics. It will facilitate research and development of fibre-optic based sculptures for public art exhibitions as the foundation for a large scale installation. We will develop and pilot a collaborative, multi-disciplinary creative art programme about how everything is connected, linking art, science and museum learning for children, young people, adults and artists in Slough and eventually nationally.
